MEET JONATHAN

You make sense in the context of your story.

I offer thoughtful, collaborative therapy for children 8+, teens, adults, couples, and families navigating depression, grief, family conflict, trauma, relationships, identity, and life transitions.

I’m interested in the whole picture—what shaped you, what keeps repeating, what matters to you, and what kind of life would actually fit. Together, we’ll trace the patterns beneath the problem and work toward change that feels real, lasting, and yours.

IN-PERSON IN FORT WAYNE • TELEHEALTH ACROSS INDIANA

You are not a problem to solve. You’re a person worth understanding.

Your story has context. Your patterns have origins. And you get a say in what comes next.

WHO I WORK WITH

You keep asking, “Why does this keep happening?”

You’re not looking for just another coping skill. You want to understand what’s underneath the pattern, how it got there, and what change might actually fit your life.

You may be:

✦ Carrying depression, grief, burnout, or a past that still feels present.

✦ Stuck in family or relationship patterns that keep repeating.

✦ Neurodivergent, gifted, or tired of having your complexity treated like a problem.

✦ An older child or teen navigating emotions, identity, school, family, or growing up.

✦ Questioning expectations around masculinity, work, parenting, relationships, or the life you’re “supposed” to want.

✦ Looking for a therapist who values nuance, asks meaningful questions, and won’t decide who you should become.

No perfectly organized explanation required. Curiosity is enough.

BEYOND THE THERAPY CHAIR

I’m a quiet person with a very busy mind.

Outside therapy, I’m happiest at home with my family, deep in a strategy game like XCOM or Fire Emblem, building a D&D world, or experimenting in the kitchen with a meal I may never recreate exactly. I’m deeply introverted and much more energized by a real conversation than small talk.

I love history, nonfiction, clever banter, and figuring out how systems work. Fairness and personal choice matter deeply to me. I believe the decisions we make help construct who we are and that growth should never mean becoming someone else’s version of you.

In therapy, that means I’ll listen closely, ask thoughtful—and sometimes difficult—questions, and make room for both your head and your heart. We’ll get curious about what shaped you and where you want to go next.

HOW I WORK

The whole system matters.

Problems rarely arrive in tidy little boxes. We’ll explore the experiences, relationships, beliefs, and systems shaping what’s happening. The goal is to understand the pattern and find where change is possible.

Family Systems

We’ll explore the roles, boundaries, and patterns affecting you and how change in one part of a relationship can shift the whole system.

Adlerian & Strength-Based Therapy

We’ll explore belonging, purpose, beliefs, and the strengths you already carry—not only what feels wrong.

Attachment and Emotionally Focused Therapy

We’ll get curious about emotional needs, protective reactions, and the cycles that can make connection feel difficult.

Identity-Affirming Care

You shouldn’t have to translate or defend your identity, relationships, sexuality, or community before meaningful therapy can begin.

EMDR & Trauma-Focused Therapy

When the past still feels present, these approaches can help your brain and body process what happened and respond differently now.

Gottman Method

For couples, research-informed tools can help strengthen communication, repair conflict, and rebuild friendship and connection.

You don’t have to impress me or do therapy perfectly. Show up as you are, and we’ll start there.
